Meet Rebecca: Designing Elevated, Unforgettable Events
Hello! My name is Rebecca Carlyle, and I’ve been part of the Prairie Lane Vintage Rentals team since the summer of 2022.
I’m a natural-born planner with a keen eye for design, and I truly thrive in the details. Since 2017, I’ve also been creating beautifully curated celebrations through Serendipitous Events, where I serve as a lead event planner across Iowa and South Dakota. From concept to execution, I love taking a vision and turning it into something tangible, intentional, and unforgettable.
I’m always ready to take on a new challenge, and nothing excites me more than bringing a client’s dream event to life using Prairie Lane’s ever-evolving collection of rentals. Whether it’s an intimate gathering or a large-scale celebration, my goal is always the same: to create a personalized experience that feels elevated, seamless, and completely unique to you.
I believe every event deserves thoughtful design, meticulous attention to detail, and a touch of creative flair. It’s about more than just how it looks — it’s about how it feels, how it flows, and how it’s remembered.
When I’m not planning and designing some of the prettiest events across South Dakota and beyond, you’ll find me at the nearest country concert, soaking up life as a girl mom to my two daughters, or dreaming up our next family (or solo) adventure.
I can’t wait to help bring your vision to life.
How long have you been with PL?
I’ve been with Prairie Lane Vintage Rentals since August of 2022, and it has truly become such a special part of my professional journey. What does your role include?
My role bridges design, logistics, and client experience. I work directly with our couples and planners to curate rental selections that align with their vision, manage proposals and inventory, coordinate delivery logistics, and ensure every detail flows seamlessly from inquiry to event day. I also collaborate closely with our warehouse team to keep inventory organized and styled in a way that feels inspiring and user-friendly.At the heart of it, I help transform ideas into tangible, beautifully executed spaces. What drew you to the event industry?
I began my journey in the industry after job shadowing in the summer of 2017 and later becoming a wedding & event planner with Serendipitous Events. I’ve always been drawn to meaningful moments — the kind you can’t recreate twice. Events are such a unique blend of logistics and emotion. You’re building something visually stunning, but you’re also helping create memories people will carry forever. That combination of structure and sentiment is what hooked me.What part of the business brings you the most joy?
Designing spaces that feel intentional. When a couple walks into their reception and it truly feels like them — the textures, the layout, the candlelight, the layered details — that’s the best feeling. I also love the collaboration behind the scenes. Watching vendors come together and execute one shared vision is pure magic. What is a trend you are loving right now?
I’m loving the shift toward curated, design-forward receptions — serpentine tables, layered linens, mixed metals, statement bars, and intentional lounge moments. Couples are moving away from “just filling a room” and instead creating experiences within the space. It feels elevated, thoughtful, and incredibly immersive.
