Meet Nicole: The Heart Behind Prairie Lane Vintage Rentals

Hi, I’m Nicole — the owner and creative mind behind Prairie Lane Vintage Rentals.

What started as a simple passion for curating beautiful, meaningful spaces has grown into a full-service rental company rooted in intention, creativity, and storytelling. I’ve always been drawn to the magic that happens when old meets new — where vintage charm blends seamlessly with modern design to create something truly unforgettable.

At Prairie Lane, every piece in our collection is thoughtfully selected with purpose. From timeless staples to one-of-a-kind finds, I believe the smallest details are often the ones that leave the biggest impression. They’re what transform a space, set the tone, and ultimately tell your story. Being a part of bringing a couple’s wedding vision to life — and watching it all come together — is something I’ll never take for granted.

When I’m not dreaming up new design concepts or loading up the delivery van, life looks a little different (and just as full). I spend my days teaching Jr. Kindergarten, wandering through antique shops and estate sales in search of hidden gems, planning our next road trip adventure, or enjoying a quiet moment at home with a cup of coffee and our cat, Lucy.

Prairie Lane has always been about more than rentals — it’s about creating experiences, celebrating moments, and helping tell stories that will be remembered for years to come.

What drew you to the event industry?
I’ve always loved hosting and gathering people together. I grew up in a family that celebrated everything — from birthdays and holidays to my grandmother’s famous cookie party. Those moments showed me how meaningful it is to create spaces where people feel welcomed, connected, and celebrated.

What part of the business brings you the most joy?
The beautiful celebrations we’re privileged to be a part of. There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing a vision come to life and knowing we played a small role in some of the most meaningful moments in our clients’ lives.

What trends in the event space are you loving right now?
I’m loving the shift toward intentional and intimate gatherings, where every detail feels personal and meaningful. The blend of modern and vintage elements continues to inspire me, especially when pieces tell a story. I’m also drawn to unique lighting that creates ambiance and flowing, romantic draping that transforms a space.

What does this 10-year anniversary mean to you?
It fills me with gratitude. For 10 years, we’ve been invited into people’s lives to help celebrate their most special moments — and that trust is something I never take for granted. This milestone is a reflection of the relationships we’ve built and the community that has supported us along the way.

What is one thing Matt brings to PLVR that you couldn’t do without?
Matt brings so much to Prairie Lane — his incredible packing skills, his logical thinking when planning designs and events, and his can-do attitude whenever we dream up something new for our clients. If we can imagine it, he’ll find a way to build it.
