Event Designer

Prairie Lane Vintage Rentals, a vintage inspired event rental company in Brandon, SD, seeks an energetic, part-time Event Designer to manage client and rental orders.  PLVR provides décor and furniture for weddings and events in Sioux Falls and the surrounding areas.  This individual is responsible for communicating with clients, creating event design ideas, and overseeing the execution of all rental orders. Approximately 85% of all rentals are weddings with the remaining being corporate parties or other special events. Responsibilities include promotional activities such as styled shoots, booking and contract administration of rentals with clients, client meetings, vendor coordination and onsite design of rentals as needed.

Time Commitment
The Event Designer is a part-time, 5-20 hours a week flexible position, depending on the season. Hours may include some Saturdays and/or Sundays, plus additional flextime during the week, which may include some later afternoon/evening hours. Position may increase in hours as our company grows.

Job Description Details & Responsibilities
The Event Designer will take part in a variety of activities as it relates to their position such as but not limited to the following:

  • Answer inquiries and building relationships with clients and vendors.

  • Design décor ideas for events

  • Guide the client through the rental process.

  • Set up and style rental items on location.

  • Inventory check-in of rental items.

  • Manage client meetings, warehouse showings, and delivery/pick up.

  • Participate in wedding shows, styled shoots, and other networking events with other wedding and event professionals.

  • Use social media platforms to assist in marketing for PLVR.


Requirements/Qualifications:

  • An ideal candidate will be responsible, detail-orientated, proactive and can represent PLVR in a positive and enthusiastic manner.

  • Loves to design and be a part of weddings and events.

  • Demonstrates excellent communication and customer service skills.

  • Ability to accurately multitask under pressure with attention to detail.

  • Fluent in Microsoft Office, Google Suite tools, and can learn a variety of software programs to complete work tasks.

  • Knowledge of social media tools for marketing such as Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest

  • Exhibit time management skills and the ability the problem solve.

  • Able to take initiative and is self-motivated.

  • Willing to work a flexible schedule.

  • Ability to lift 40 lbs.


Compensation:

  • $10+ per hour depending on experience with sales commission available.
